Virtual Private Networking

The UF VPN Service is designed to allow University Faculty, Staff, and Students to securely "tunnel" into campus over commodity networks, such as the Internet, and access services as if they were on campus. The only two things you need to begin are the software, which is available on this site, and a valid gatorlink account. For help installing and configuring the VPN client on your home computer or wireless laptop, view the UF VPN instructions.

If you have a firewall either on your PC, or within a network router (e.g. your home network is wireless), be sure to see the section entitled "Using Windows XP SP2 Firewall with the Windows VPN Client". For most users, it only requires checking the option "Allow IPsec over UDP".
