Remember that you alone are responsible for keeping track of your progress through the major. The College's Academic Advising Center, and the Department's Undergraduate Coordinator, are here at be helpful to you, but the responsibility for completing all the requirements is yours. Please make sure that you are thoroughly familiar with the things you'll need to do to complete your criminology major.

Degree Requirements
  • Course Required of ALL majors:
CCJ 3024 Advanced Principles of Criminal Justice (3 credits)
CCJ 3701 Research Methods in Criminology (4 credits)
CCJ 4604 Criminological Theory (3 credits)
CCJ 3038 Law and Society (3 credits)
  • One of the Following:
CJL 4110 Criminal Law (3 credits)
CJL 4410 Criminal Procedure (3 credits)
CJL 4050 Juvenile Law (3 credits)
  • CCJ Electives, Minimum of 18 semester hours
For students matriculated in the Fall of 2001 and later, a maximum of 9 semester hours of the 34 hours required of all majors can be satisfied by completing approved interdisciplinary courses with a grade of "C" or higher. See approved interdisciplinary courses.
